We decided to set the release date of Enterprise 6 back by a few weeks, to allow more time for our testing programme. It will now be released on 15th November. Further details and upgrade costs are included below.

Boost your web rankings with Caliban, the web wizard.

Do you want to maximise the chances of your site being found when people do searches through Google and other search engines? Then Caliban could be the answer. Recently announced as the latest addition to the stable of Daybook products, it could dramatically increase your chances.

The concept is simple. Let's use Daybook software as an example. In our own field 'keyword competition' is intense. Words like 'software', 'CRM', 'e-commerce', 'Mac', 'PC', 'accounting' and so on are everywhere on the web and the chance of being near the top of the results of search using them is, effectively, nil. Google produces 7,310,000 pages for 'accounting software' for example, while 'accounting software in London' brings the number down to just over a million.

Daybook Adopts New Code of Practice

Daybook has agreed to adopt the new BASDA Code of Practice to cover all of its development work and dealing with clients. BASDA is the international software standards body, based in the UK, representing 250 of the world's leading developers and suppliers of business application software. Daybook is, of course, a BASDA member.

Develop your problem-solving skills

Is it a 'black art', or is the ability to solve computer problems a highly technical business, needing a high degree of technical skill?

Well, actually most of the time it is surprisingly straightforward and just a little knowledge can get you a long way. How you go about it can be more important than what you know.

The first stage is always to narrow down the field of investigation by eliminating possibilities - and in the process of doing so you very often find the solution. In this article Maryvonne Lumley tells you how to go about it in the - admittedly unlikely - event that your problem involves a Daybook product.

Welcome!

Congratulations to Balinder Walia and wife Preet on the arrival of a bouncing baby boy. A couple of months ago we speculated that he would turn out to be a programmer. Little Harman arrived early (this is not very programmer-like), but nonetheless, as you will see from his picture, within a few days he was getting to grips with a knotty coding problem.
