  • How to exclude data when you are doing searches

    In Daybook Enterprise and Modulus, when you are searching for data, for instance for a mailing, it is sometimes useful to exclude certain things from the search.
    For example, you may wish to search for contacts, that do not have the Role 'P'. To do this:

    * Go to the Contacts menu
    * Click More Choices.
    * Click the 'No @ Lists' checkbox i.e. so that an 'x' appears inside it.
    * Go to the Functions menu on the top menu bar
    * Select Not Equal to (the # symbol is used to define data that is not equal to a specific value)
    * Alternatively you can use Option-3

    Click Find.

    A list of those companies with contacts that do not have a role of P will then be displayed.

    Other Functions
    Other ways in which searches can be refined from the Functions menu are by using

    * Equal to
    * Greater than
    * Greater than or equal to
    * Less than
    * Less than or equal to
    * Contains
    * Does not contain
