We announced Caliban - the Web Wizard - in the last e-letter. Though still in development and testing, it is now providing the power behind the new Daybook website.

How does it work?

Caliban uses templates. They can be as simple or as complex as you like and you can have many of them in one site, to handle the different types of pages you have. This page has been specially designed for the e-letter, whereas the pages giving an overview of the Enterprise 6 suite use a different template entirely - and a much more complex one.

Once the template has been done, you just add content via a browser interface. It's fast, non-technical, and you get perfect results every time. Once you have put the content in, Caliban creates the page's title, keywords, description and other tags. It's a breeze!

In short Caliban is how we managed to get so much content onto our new site in such a short space of time - when there were so many other things to do as well!

You can either have your content served on calibanweb.com or set up a subdomain on your DNS server (e.g. pages.yourdomain.co.uk) which points at the Caliban server.
