We're back with the September edition of the Daybook e-letter.
We hope that you enjoy it and find it helpful.
We are currently putting the finishing touches to Enterprise 6,
the latest version of our all-in-one business management suite
and we are still looking for testers, to make sure that we get it
as suited for your needs as possible. If you are interested and
have not yet contacted us, please click on the line below.
A 'sneak peek' at what's new in the Enterprise 6 diary
Upgraded, reworked and with superior functionality, the long-
awaited, version 6 of Daybook Enterprise, is soon to be
unveiled, and with it an enhanced diary.
One of our users' most frequent requests has been to have a
graphical diary interface, such as you might see in Microsoft
Outlook or Entourage and we are pleased to announce that this
will be included in Enterprise 6.
Technical support is not just about fixing things when they go
wrong, it's also about preventing problems before they occur,
solving business problems as well as technical ones, and
helping clients to get the best out of their system.
For certain people, software support presents an endlessly
fascinating challenge. A software technician, such as Daybook's
Balinder Walia, sees each call as a fresh problem to be solved
and an opportunity to excel in what he does best.
Balinder explains: "Clients tend to accept things as they are
and do not bother to change them. But just a few minutes spent
talking to the Daybook Customer Support Team can often bring
about surprising results, as we can help clients to make the
most of their investment."
He continues: "What many clients don't realise is that tailoring
a flexible product like Modulus or Daybook Enterprise means it
can do things that specifically meet your business needs. In
this ways we can, for example, provide people who work in
accounting and finance with a complete system to support them
in a number of time-consuming and expensive tasks."
It is always good to get feedback, whether it be good or bad,
and we would welcome yours, even if - in fact especially if - it
is not as glowing as the comments that follow.
Customer Support and Training Coordinator, Maryvonne Lumley
writes: "I have worked with all members of the technical team
since they joined the company. They are all scrupulously
conscientious and I'm struck by just how keen they are to keep
our clients happy. I knew that they were too modest
themselves to seek any feedback, so I approached several of
the people who I know have had frequent dealings with the
team lately. Here are a couple of examples of the kind of
feedback we received..."
We would like to remind customers that we are
always eager to receive feedback. If you have any
suggestions for changes or enhancements to any
Daybook product, or if there is anything that would
make your life easier (and is in our power to change)
then please take the time to let us know.

Text messaging can be a wonderful, cheap way to communicate
with clients or staff. Daybook Enterprise makes it possible to
text, text and test again, to one person or to many - without
having to wear your thumbs out.
In our tip of the month, Maryvonne Lumley explains how to do
it.
Daybook is a member of the Business Application Software
Developers Association (BASDA), a UK-based body which
represents more than 250 of the world's leading applications
software developers and is the acknowledged voice of the

The BASDA Marketing Forum is looking for Daybook clients to
participate in its BASDA Customer Survey. The simple
questionnaire takes just four minutes to complete and for every
firm that takes part there will be a £1 donation made to
Imperial Cancer Research. Please note that all the information
given will be kept confidential and participants will not be
contacted by BASDA or any of its members. If you would like

Daybook has had another fresh addition to its growing team.

warmest congratulations to both him and his wife Emma.
4D 2004
4D has just released 4D 2004. We will shortly start testing,
with a view to launching a 2004-compatible version of
Enterprise 6 soon.
Another reminder for 4D 6.7 users that you have until the end
of September to take advantage of the upgrade path to 4D
2003 and to purchase any additional 6.7 licences that you may
require. We will be happy to help and advise in any way we can
