Daybook Enterprise contains a comprehensive Macro facility for the automation of repetitive tasks. Macros can record tasks as you carry them out, or they can be programmed using a Macro language. The Macros Palette is used to control the recording of Macros, while there is a special screen where they can be edited or created.

Data Entry Macros

It is possible to force a Macro to be run on saving a record or when the contents of a field are changed. It is also possible to create macros that operate before creating a record, before viewing an existing record.

Such Macros are termed "Data entry Macros" and they are a very powerful way to modify or enhance the built-in functionality of Enterprise 6 and so create a bespoke system.

This is also a very cost-effective way to enhance your system, since no special work is needed when upgrades are required. Macros are very quick to add.

Macros Manager

Macros can also be launched independently of any other processes, to carry out special tasks. This is accomplished using the Macro Manager palette, which also allows simple processes to be recorded as Macros.
