New Search Manager for Enterprise 6

As mentioned briefly last time, we have started on our development programme designed to enhance the data retrieval and reporting functions of Enterprise 6. Enterprise has always been outstanding in this respect, but we feel that we can make it even better, by making these functions even quicker and more intuitive to use.

The first stage in this programme will appear in the next release of Enterprise 6, in a few weeks time, with the new Search Manager.

You will now have the ability, within a More Choices search screen to save your searches, no matter how complex they may be. They will then be available on a menu within this screen for you to run whenever you wish.

So now, searches that need to be done repeatedly can be set up by users or administrators. It means less training, more consistency and quicker working.

The new Search Manager can also power a rule-based Data List. Now when you hit the button to specify the rules for the list, you are taken to the more choices dialog. You do your search, and that search now powers the Data List, making the results of your query accessible with just one click.

It's another of those (apparently) simple, innovative and incredibly useful features that we have been building into Enterprise 6 from the very beginning. We may not be the world's largest software company, but we aim to ensure that feature for feature we stay well ahead of our rivals.
